Marquez Pope is a former American football cornerback who played in the NFL from 1992 to 2000. He played college football at Fresno State University and was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 1992 NFL Draft. Pope played for the Chargers for three seasons before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 1995. He played for the 49ers for two seasons before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1997. Pope played for the Jaguars for one season before signing with the Green Bay Packers in 1998. He played for the Packers for two seasons before ending his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders in 2000. Over his career, Pope recorded 22 interceptions and 4 touchdowns. After retiring from football, Pope served as a high school coach and administrator in California and currently works as a motivational speaker.
